Hare Krishna,

As you are aware of our new temple project, the new home of their Lordships Sri Sri Gaura Nitai here in Perth, Western Australia.

We have acquired a new place for our worship of their Lordships on the Perth Hills in Kalamunda.

Yes! The new Hare Krishna temple in Perth will be in Kalamunda at 159 Canning Road, Kalamunda.

Recently We had a small innaguration ceremony with a Yajna and Children's ratha yatra. The program started with a Kirtan followed by short discussion about the Ratha yatra festival by His Grace Bhurijana prabhu. Then Priya Chaitanya prabhu performed the Yajna invoking the blessings of all the vaisnavas in our tiny efforts to please them. After Shyama Hari prabhu peformed the arati to their Lordships to Sri Srii Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra, they were taken on a procession on the beautiful chariot built by Rasavigraha prabhu and friends. Their Lordships enjoyed going around the carpark in the clear sunny weather on the hills of Kalamunda. Then all the devotees enjoyed the sumptuous feast prasadam cooked very expertly by Rasavigraha prabhu and Baliraj prabhu. You can see the action on that day in the following pictures. The Nrsimha Caturdasi festival was held at Australia-Asia house on Sunday, 18th May 2008. The program included Bhajans, Abhishek, Discourse (by HH Bhurijana Prabhu), Arati and Prasadam. Nearly 200 devotees attended the festival.

Perth, Western Australia.... Considered by most to be an uninhabitable wasteland deep within the Australian Outback, devotees struggle to create a sustainable recycling system and organic farm in adverse conditions such as unemployment, desert soil, drought and extreme weather conditions.

While the rest of the world humorously considers Perth as 'Gods Waiting Room' due to its high age limit, for the devotees this takes a different meaning, as a place to practice serving God. The devotees attempt to sow the seeds of Krishna in this infertile soil and throw off the retirement home mentality to implement a recycling and organic farm project for the temple and the devotees in order to offer organic foodstuffs to Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead.

The short film explores the importance of environmental stability as proposed by Srila Prabhupada, the process of recycling, creating organic compost, meeting with government officials for funding, and finally offering the produce to the Lord and honouring the sanctified food amongst the devotees at an auspicious festival.
